Editorial Policy

We start from the problem and work out what solving it requires. A product only appears on a page if it is genuinely part of the answer. Where a problem needs nothing bought, the page says so and recommends nothing.

We do not accept payment for placement, and no retailer or brand has any say in what appears here or in what score it receives.

Berbaloi participates in affiliate programmes including Shopee and Lazada. Affiliate links are disclosed on every page that carries them and in the affiliate disclosure. Commission rates do not affect ranking or scoring.

We do not scrape retailer prices. Where a price is shown, it was read from the listing on the date shown next to it, and it may have changed since. Where we have not verified a price, we show no number at all rather than an estimate.

We will never say we tested something we did not test, and we will never present a specification we read as a result we measured. Where our knowledge comes from published specifications and common use, the confidence rating on the page says so.

We currently publish no sponsored content. If that ever changes, it will be labelled clearly at the top of the page, and it will not carry a Berbaloi Score.

If something here is wrong, we would rather know. We correct factual errors as soon as they are confirmed and update the “last updated” date on the page. Substantive changes to a recommendation are noted on the page itself.

If you spot something wrong, tell us — a correction is worth more to this site than the page being wrong is worth to anyone.

For electrical work, gas, structural repairs, hazardous chemicals and anything with a real injury risk, we provide identification, safe checks and warning signs only. We do not publish step-by-step instructions for work that should be done by someone qualified.
