What actually matters
1.Power Delivery is the thing that matters
USB Power Delivery is the standard that lets a charger and device negotiate higher voltages. A charger without PD falls back to slow charging no matter what wattage is printed on it.
2.Wattage should match your biggest device
A phone rarely draws more than 30W. A thin-and-light laptop typically wants 45–65W. Buy for the laptop and the phone is covered automatically.
3.GaN changed the size trade-off
Gallium nitride chargers run cooler and pack more power into less space. A 65W GaN charger is roughly the size of an old 20W brick, which is what makes multi-port units practical to carry.
4.Multi-port chargers share their budget
A 65W two-port charger does not give 65W to each port. Plugging in a phone alongside a laptop drops the laptop's share, often to 45W. Check the published split before assuming.
5.The cable is part of the system
Cables are rated too. A cable rated for 60W will not carry 100W regardless of the charger, and most chargers don't include one.
How to choose
List what you'll plug in
Write down every device and its charging wattage — it's usually printed on the original charger. Buy for the highest one.
Confirm it says 'Power Delivery' or 'PD'
If the listing doesn't mention PD or USB-C PD explicitly, assume it doesn't have it.
Read the multi-port split
Look for the table showing what each port delivers when others are in use. A charger that hides this is worth being sceptical about.
Check the plug type
Malaysia uses Type G. Some imported chargers ship with a different plug or a loose adapter, which is a safety and convenience issue.

Will a 65W charger damage my phone?
No. The device negotiates how much it draws — a higher-wattage charger simply has headroom it won't use. Higher wattage is never harmful to a device that supports PD.
Why is my phone still charging slowly?
Usually the cable, or a charger without Power Delivery. Try a different PD-rated cable before replacing the charger.
Is a branded charger worth the extra?
For safety certification and honest wattage claims, generally yes. This is a device you leave plugged in unattended, which is the wrong place to save ten ringgit.
What's the difference between PD and QC?
Quick Charge is Qualcomm's older standard, mostly on Android. Power Delivery is the open USB-C standard and is what nearly all current devices use. A charger supporting both is convenient if you own older devices.
